Chivas of Guadalajara has had a fairly good start to the Clausura 2020 season, where they sit in 11th place with 6 points. A win against the cementeros could take them into the top-8 region, but Cruz Azul will be no easy opponent.
The rebaño sagrado has disappointed fans and critics alike as their performances have so far been underwhelming. The ‘super Chivas’ which signed several top players in the offseason has yet to demonstrate their best form. There is amounting pressure against coach Luis Fernando Tena, and another tie or loss this weekend will put his job with Chivas in jeopardy.

The cementeros began their season in terrible form losing their first two games and putting extensive pressure on coach Robert Siboldi.
The Mexico City team has since then changed things around, earning their 7 points with 2 wins and a tie. It will be interesting to see if they start their new 18-year jewel Santiago Gimenez, who has scored 2 goals as the team’s center-forward.
