Chivas de Guadalajara will host Atlas at the Estadio Akron this Saturday, September 14, 2019 (5:00 PM Pacific) for a match in Week 9 of the Liga MX 2019 Apertura.
The “Clasico Tapatio” is one of the most anticipated games in Week 9 of the tournament due to the intense rivalry between both teams. Atlas has done considerably better than Chivas this season, but in terms of talent, the squads are comparable.
The starting lineups for the game have been released and Chivas will lineup as follows: Raul Gudino, Antonio Briseno, Migue Ponce, Jesus Sanchez, Gilberto Sepulveda, Dieter Villalpando, Jesus Molina, Alan Cervantes, Isaac Brizuela, Alexis Vega, Alan Pulido.
Chivas’ manager Tomas Boy has left some interesting players on the bench like Josecarlos Van Rankin, Oswaldo Alanis and “Chofis” Lopez. Boy’s starting XI is filled with young players like Gilberto Sepulveda and Alan Cervantes, who may feel the pressure in a game like this.
Atlas will lineup like this: Camilo Vargas, Ismael Govea, Jorge Segura, Anderson Santamaria, Jesus Angulo, Lorenzo Reyes, Osvaldo Martinez, Jairo Torres, Jesus Isijara, Facundo Barcelo, Christopher Trejo.
Atlas’ manager Leandro Cufre also made some intriguing decisions as he decided to bench Ricky Alvarez and Javier Correa, but opted to start youngster Christopher Trejo. Trejo did score in Atlas’ 3-0 win against Club America as Los Zorros will be without centre-back Martin Nervo due to a red card that was received in that game.
