The Liga MX 2019 Clausura season will begin this Friday, January 4, 2019, as Puebla host Cruz Azul at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc in what should be an exciting clash. Both teams will have distinct objectives from one another in the 2019 Clausura, but this should still prove to be a very hard-fought match.
Both teams have solid rosters and do have several different potential lineups that they could deploy this Friday night at the Cuauhtemoc. Here are the predicted lineups that we could see from Puebla and Cruz Azul to kick off the 2019 Clausura tournament.
Puebla: Nicolas Vikonis, Vladimir Lorona, Daniel Arreola, Ignacio Pallas, Alonso Zamora, Gerardo Rodriguez, Alejandro Chumacero, Jose Daniel Guerrero, Pablo Gonzalez, Matias Alustiza, Lucas Cavallini
Cruz Azul: Jesus Corona, Jose Maduena, Julio Cesar Dominguez, Pablo Aguilar, Adrian Aldrete, Ivan Marcone, Orbelin Pineda, Elias Hernandez, Roberto Alvarado, Edgar Mendez, Milton Caraglio.
Enrique Meza is likely to go for a more conservative linuep with a five-man backline against one of the better teams in the Liga MX. “Ojitos” could use a 5-2-3 formation as well, but will likely use a 5-3-2 to have better distribution and defend better as well.
Pedro Caixinha will likely go with a more aggressive and offensive setup in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but he does have several different options, especially in the midfield. Ivan Marcone is a lock in the midfield, but the Portuguese manager could start Orbelin Pineda, Rafael Baca, Javier Salas or Yoshimar Yotun alongside him.
