This Sunday, September 23, 2018, Chivas de Guadalajara will host Queretaro at the Estadio Akron in what could be a very exciting match in this Week 10 of the 2018 Apertura. There have been plenty of players that have represented both Los Rojiblancos and Los Gallos Blancos, here are five.

Orbelin Pineda

Pineda has been one of Chivas’ most important players over the past few seasons and was key to Matias Almeyda’s championship team in the 2017 Clausura tournament. The Mexico City native now has amassed nearly 100 appearances with El Rebano Sagrado, but is a Queretaro youth product and played with Los Gallos Blancos from 2014-2015 before arriving in Guadalajara in 2016.

Liborio Sanchez

Liborio was once on the national spotlight and on the Mexico national team radar because of his efforts with Queretaro, but at 28 years old, he his now just a forgotten memory for many people. Sanchez had his best years from 2011-2012 with Los Gallos Blancos, where he represented Mexico’s Olympic team. The Guadalajara native started his playing career with Chivas in 2010 and was last seen playing amateur football in Mexico.

Gonzalo Pineda

The Mexican midfielder played with Los Rojiblancos from 2006-2009 and was a key piece to Chivas’ 2006 Apertura championship team. Pineda played with Queretaro later on his career from 2012-2013 and Los Gallos Blancos were his last team in Mexico as he finished his career in the MLS with the Seattle Sounders.

Adolfo Bautista

“El Bofo” was also a key player in Chivas’ 2006 Apertura championship team and was even teammates with “Gonzo” in 2012 with Queretaro. Bautista only scored one goal with Los Gallos Blancos from 2011-2012, but managed to score 45 in his time with Chivas and was an iconic figure.

Eduardo De La Torre

“Yayo” played with Chivas for over a decade in two different stints and finished his career as the third-best goalscorer in the team’s history. De La Torre then went on to finish his playing career in Queretaro from 1992-1993 to cap off a very illustrious time in Mexican football.
