The Mexican soccer federation (FMF) announced this morning, August 27, 2018, that Tigres UANL’s Ricardo ‘Tuca’ Ferretti will be Mexico’s interim coach during the next FIFA match days.
According to the FMF’s page, “We have come to an agreement with Ricardo Ferretti and Club Tigres [for him] to lead the Mexican national team in an interim manner for the upcoming friendly FIFA matches”.

The last time Tuca became Mexico’s interim coach was after Miguel Herrera was fired from the position in 2015. At that time, he led Mexico to an exciting 3-2 overtime win over the USMNT to obtain a ticket into the 2017 Confederations Cup.
It has not been confirmed how many matches the Tigres manager will coach, but he for sure will be in charge of Mexico in the games against Uruguay and the United States to be played in September.
This may also confirm that the FMF may not have ex-Chivas of Guadalajara coach, Matias Almeyda, in consideration for the permanent job.
