Wolverhampton had a solid start to its Premier League season with a 2-2 draw against Everton, thanks to an 80th-minute header by Raul Jimenez. The Mexican striker had a dream debut in the EPL, after having spent the last three years of his career in Portugal with Benfica.
Wolves will now play their first away match of the season, as Jimenez and the squad travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City. The Foxes are coming off a 2-1 loss against Manchester United that could have ended a lot worse, had United been better at placing their shots.
A late goal by Jaime Vardy was Leicester’s only moment of glory in the encounter, as the team now seeks its first points in the new season. Raul Jimenez will have a tough task in hand, as he will be tightly marked by team captain Wes Morgan and England international Harry Maguire.
Both defenders are very physical, Maguire standing in at 6-foot-4 and Morgan at 6-foot-1 and should be tough to get past. The Mexican target man will have plenty of creativity behind him to generate opportunities with players like Joao Moutinho, Helder Costa, and Diogo Jota.
The game should prove to be a very hard-fought match and a good test for Jimenez up against an experienced backline. Jimenez showed he was 100% ready for the EPL and will be a menace all season long.
