This Saturday, August 18, 2018 (4:00 PM Pacific) River Plate will make their home debut in the new Superliga Argentina when they receive Belgrano at the Estadio Monumental. In what is expected to be an intense match, the ‘millonarios’ are favored to win the game considering their home field advantage and stronger squad.
River Plate will play their 5th official match of this semester, as they have already performed in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Argentina. The team coached by Marcelo Gallardo is undefeated in those games but has also failed to score in their previous two matches against Racing in Libertadores and Huracan away in the first week of the Superliga. Nonetheless, the team from Buenos Aires has a great opportunity to score and win this Saturday.
Belgrano has not had a schedule as busy as River Plate as they are not in Libertadores and were eliminated by Platense early on in the Copa Argentina. The team coached by Lucas Bernardi tied in the first week 0-0 against San Martin, and this Saturday another tie will be a great result in their difficult visit at the Monumental.
