At the beginning of the calendar year there were 11 Colombian players in the Spanish La Liga, but now there are only eight as the new season approaches. This is counting the recent transfer of Santiago Arias to Atletico Madrid, but not counting the inevitable departures of Yerry Mina from Barcelona and Jefferson Lerma from Levante.
The other players that have yet to be mentioned include Daniel Torres of Deportivo Alaves, Cucho Hernandez from Huesca, Luis Muriel of Sevilla, Jeison Murillo of Valencia, and Bernardo Espinosa and Johan Mojica of Girona.
Santiago Arias will be the standout Colombian player to watch in Spain’s top-flight this league this season. However, other players like Cucho Hernandez and Luis Muriel could also be very intriguing to keep an eye on.

Hernandez is just 19 years old and scored 16 goals in the Spanish second division to help Huesca gain promotion. Luis Muriel is now an experienced forward, but still has a lot to prove at Sevilla after scoring seven goals in 23 appearances last season.
