This Wednesday, February 21, 2018 (5:00 PM Pacific) Deportivo Saprissa will host Club America at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayma in San Jose, Costa Rica for a match in the round of 16 of the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. This is the first leg between the two teams which should provide a very intense encounter in Costa Rica.

Saprissa is currently third in the Costa Rican league with 22 points and is undefeated at home in the competition. Daniel Colindres and David Ramirez will be two of the main players to watch in this game as both players have six goals each in the domestic tournament. The Central American side has been one of the more respectable teams in the CONCACAF region over the past few years and may cause some problems to Las Aguilas in this first leg.

Club America is currently first in the Liga MX Clausura 2018 and is still undefeated in the tournament after eight games. Los Azulcremas are coming off a fortunate 1-1 draw against Veracruz away from home as the team scored the equalizer very late in the match. Miguel Herrera really made some precise moves this transfer window, like bringing in Henry Martin and Jeremy Menez, that have made his team into a force. The Mexico City team is the clear favorite to win this game and should be able to come out of Costa Rica with an advantage heading into the second leg.
