Rangers star reportedly makes huge demands if club are to hold on to his services

As per The Daily Express, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is open to signing a contract extension if the club meet his wages demand.

The 21-year-old wants to be amongst the club’s highest earners after they confirmed he is one of their most prized assets by knocking back winter transfer bids for him.

Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Rehne saw an £8million offer for Morelos’ rejected last month, and although they have since cooled interest, the striker wants Rangers to open talks over a new deal soon.

The Colombian currently earns £7,000, but Rehne were ready to triple it and pay £21,000 if he had agreed to join them.

Portuguese defender Bruno Alves is currently Rangers’ highest earner, with the 36-year-old reportedly earning around £30,000 per week.

Talks with Morelos’ representatives over a new deal are expected to start next week, and both parties should come to a favorable conclusion afterwards.

With 11 league goals to his name, the former HJK Helsinki hitman leads the SPFL goal charts, and he no doubt deserves to be rewarded with an improved deal.
