Celtic man reveals why the next couple of months would determine his club future

Celtic vs Hearts

It’s been a troubled and underwhelming spell for Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi since his arrival at Parkhead a year ago.

Injuries and lack of frequent playing minutes have limited the Ivory Coast international to just a total of 13 games for the Hoops, and the 20-year-old ex-Krasnodar man is already considering his future despite having 3 and half years to go on his current contract.

Kouassi’s international career hasn’t quite gone as anticipated either as he’s yet to receive his senior national team call up from Ivory Coast.

The midfielder isn’t ready to give up on his dreams, though, vowing to give all his best from now till summer before deciding on his future afterwards.

Kouassi recently revealed his aspirations for the concluding months of the campaign to Celtic TV, saying: “I hope to play more. I want to stay focused, work hard and wait for my chance. I know it’s difficult, but I have to wait for my chance. I want to work hard and we will see for the next six months.”

The Ivorian has featured 8 times this term, with 5 league appearances under his name.

Captain Scott Brown’s form and constant presence in the lineup means a player like Kouassi has to make do with a bit-part role, and it’s not something the youngster is content with at this point in his career.

The next couple of months will surely determine his Celtic future, and it could take a lot of games for him to be convinced to stay beyond the current campaign.
