As per Daily Mail, Celtic are very keen on landing Republic of Ireland youth international forward Elvis Azah having been impressed with his spectacular performances during a trial match.
The 16-year-old Ghanaian-born winger has had trials with Premier League duo Manchester United and Everton in the past, while the trio of Chelsea, Brighton and Southampton are all currently keeping tabs on him.
However, after Azah scored a goal and assisted another one for Celtic under-17 during a 4-1 win over their Partick Thistle counterparts last week, the Hoops scouts were more than delighted in what they witnessed first-hand.
They almost signed him up post-game, but he was yet to receive his Irish citizenship at the time having been born in the West African country.
Azah only moved to Britain 5 years ago, and has just recently and finally received his Irish citizenship.
His pace and superb technical abilities belying his years convinced Celtic to go for him, and they reckon he could be a huge star going forward.
Azah has featured for Republic of Ireland at both under-15 and under-16 levels and played junior football for both Deen Celtic, a club in Co. Kilkenny, and top-flight side Waterford.
He will be joining child prodigy Karamoko Dembele, 14, and others in the development squad once a deal is completed.
