Aston Villa reportedly decide not to extend contract of key player

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa have informed Alan Hutton that his services are no longer needed and freed him to find a new accommodation after his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

The powerful right-back arrived at Villa Park from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2011. After a couple of loan spells at Nottingham Forest, RCD Mallorca, and Bolton Wanderers, the Hutton has finally managed to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Villa.

The 33-year-old defender has been one of the most consistent players in Steve Bruce’s team this year, featuring in 22 league games.

That’s why it is so strange that the Lions have decided not to renew his contract, especially considering that Micah Richards has constant problems with injuries, while James Bree still has something to prove.

The former Rangers star stressed his desire to return to Ibrox one day, and Glasgow may be his next destination.
