Tottenham Hotspur have sent youngster Anton Walkes on loan to Portsmouth for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season in the United States with Atlanta United and returned to the London Stadium this month.
During his time with Atlanta, Walkes went on to make 20 appearances and scored two goals.
He will now be looking to play more first team football in order to further develop his career and possibly impress Mauricio Pochettino to include him in Spurs future first team plans.
Pompey manager Kenny Jackett is confident that Walkes can add something different to his squad and said: “He can play in midfield, the centre of defence or at right-back and he’s an athletic player, so we’re pleased to add him for the rest of the season.
“The experience of coming to a club like Pompey will be a good one for him and he’ll be keen to help us move towards the top six. He’s someone I have a lot of time for and think he’s got a very bright future. He’s certainly got all the tools to succeed.”
