West Ham reportedly have yet to make official bid for 74-EPL-goal striker despite interests

West Ham are amongst the suitors that have been linked with out-of-favour Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, but it has emerged that the Hammers are yet to approach the Merseysiders officially.

The January transfer window closes on Wednesday, and while the 28-year-old still wants to leave Anfield, it doesn’t appear his next stop will be the London Stadium.

Sky Sports journalist Aidan Magee revealed on Friday: “Let’s find out exactly what’s happening with an England international. We’re told that Liverpool FC have received no contact from West Ham regarding Daniel Sturridge.

“The England striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield this month to try and get games ahead of the World Cup.”

West Ham need striking reinforcements with recurring injuries and potential exits this month bound to leave them thin in the department.

In the highly-experienced Sturridge, who has bagged 74 league goals in 194 games, the east Londoners would be landing a top quality finisher.

However, it remains to be seen if they will be firming up interest in the England international with very little time left to go in the window.

Manager David Moyes is known for completing late deals, though, and a transfer deadline day move for Sturridge could be in the pipeline.
