West Ham reportedly keen on sanctioning £18million January transfer deal for centre-back

According to Football.London, West Ham are ready to cash in on 19-year-old centre-back Reece Oxford provided Borussia Monchengladbach are willing to meet their £18million asking price.

The England youth international recently returned from what was supposed to be a season-long loan at the Bundesliga club, but he wishes to return – a sentiment both clubs share.

Another loan deal is all but certain, but the Hammers won’t hesitate to sanction a permanent transfer for the right fees, with Monchengladbach keen.

Oxford made just 4 appearances at the German club after a tough start to life in the country, but his performances were enough for them and RB Leipzig to table a £12million bid for his signature last month.

West Ham will likely not be completely cutting ties with the promising starlet, and a buy-back clause could be included in a deal should they sell him.

Getting £18million from his sales would help boost the club’s transfer activities in the closing stages of the window, and manager David Moyes could finally land his desired target(s).
