Everton handed boost as winger reportedly agrees personal terms after summer move failed

According to the Burnley Express, Everton forward Aaron Lennon is set to leave Goodison Park for Burnley having agreed personal terms on Friday ahead of a winter switch.

The 30-year-old winger was close to moving to Turf Moor back in August, but chose to remain at Merseyside having just recovered from a mental and stress-related illness 3 months earlier.

With less than 6 months left on Lennon’s Everton contract, cashing in on him will come as a boost to the club as opposed to letting him go for nothing at the end of the season.

The majority of terms are said to have been agreed with the 21-cap former England international, but few details are left to be finalized for the veteran speedster.

Lennon has featured in 15 Premier League games for Everton this term, but the arrival of Theo Walcott and return to fitness of Yannick Bolasie have seen him suddenly become surplus to requirements.

A deal with Burnley is expected to be gotten over the line in time for a debut against Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.
