West Ham manager David Moyes has ruled out the possibility of his club signing either William Carvalho or Joao Mario this month.
The Scot did however admit that his squad is depleted and added that they must focus on clearing up their injury list.
Hammers star man Manuel Lanzini suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday as the East London club drew 1-1 with Bournemouth and he is now set to join the likes of Andy Carroll, Winston Reid, Michail Antonio, Jose Fonte and Diafra Sakho on the sidelines.
While Moyes did say that his club are looking to make additions, he ruled out moves for Carvalho who they tried to sign last summer as well as Mario whom they have been strongly linked with this month.
“I don’t think so,” Moyes responded when asked about bringing in the two players. “I don’t think we will. I think one was possibly a loan and one would have been a transfer, but I think Sporting are top of the league at the moment so I would have to say that would be a no as far I’m concerned.”
