Premier League side reportedly join the race for Aston Villa target

The Birmingham Mail have reported the news about potential interest from Premier League’ side Crystal Palace in Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa recently approached by Aston Villa.

According to the same source, Palace’ manager Roy Hodgson is looking for a quality replacement for Christian Bentke, who has had ups and downs this season.

The experienced coach has identified Ulloa as a preferable option, giving the fact the Foxes are willing to let the player go this January for a minimal compensation fee.

Villa’ manager Steve Bruce, on the other hand, has been following the Argentine since the beginning of the winter transfer window, as both Gabby Agbonlahor and Jonathan Kodjia are struggling with injuries.

However, due to the Finacial Fair Play restrictions, Aston Villa can’t spend money in January, allowing them to only bring the players on loan.

It seems Leicester would like to cash-in on the 31-year-old striker rather than sending him on loan, which represents the main obstacle for the Lions to make this transfer happen.
