According to Italian football expert Gianluca di Marzio, West Ham are interested in signing Bologna left-back Adam Masina this month.
The Italy international was scouted by the Hammers back in September, but Tottenham are also keen, as they reckon he would be the perfect replacement for Danny Rose.
However, with the England international not likely to leave north London this window, West Ham have an advantage to land their man.
Masina has been a regular for the mid-table Bologna side this term, and could help strengthen the left-back position at the London Stadium.
The 24-year-old is powerful, fast and strong in one-on-one situations, with many tipping him to make Italy’s squad to the World Cup, having been one of the best left-backs in the Serie A this term.
West Ham currently have Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku, but Masina will nevertheless be a big asset to their defence if signed.
The Morocco-born former Serie B Footballer of the Year should be available for a fee the east Londoners can afford, but it remains to be seen if he is keen on leaving for where he’s not guaranteed a starting berth.
