Christiansen comment suggests summer arrival could already be leaving Elland Road

Leeds vs Port Vale

Leeds United completed the signing of former Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw a few days ago, and the Englishman is expected to play a huge role in the club’s pursuit of promotion to the Premier League.

The arrival of the 26-year-old, on the other hand, appears to have signaled an end to Mateusz Klich’s Leeds career – on a temporary basis at least.

With just a Championship start and 3 other appearances off the bench, the 27-year-old, whose last appearance came against Birmingham City, is bound to even see more limited chances with Forshaw now around.

A loan move away from Elland Road has been hinted at, after manager Thomas Christiansen’s reaction when asked about Klich’s future.

With foreign interest on offer for the Poland international midfielder, who has struggled to force his way into Christiansen’s first team plans since arriving from FC Twente last summer, an exit looks to be on the cards.

Klich’s performances on loan could go a way in determining his immediate future at Elland Road.
