Aston Villa loanee reportedly announces his desire not to return

According to the Herald Sun, Aston Villa loanee Ross McCormack has reiterated his desire to stay at Melbourne City until the end of the season.

The player’s valuation is approximately $20 million, and Villa are interested in cash-in on him, but apparently, they’ll have to wait until the summer. McCormack has had an astonishing first half of the season, becoming the club’s top goalscorer.

The 31-year-old arrived at AAMI Park as a replacement for injured striker Bruno Fornaroli back in September, but he managed to impress Melbourne officials, scoring thirteen goals in 15 games in the A-League so far.

After stunning performances, Aston Villa officials were thinking of taking the former Leeds United striker back to Villa Park to make some money from his sale.

However, McCormack has no intention of moving back to England any time soon. He has already informed City’ officials to persuade the English club representatives to let him stay in Australia for a few more months.

Steve Bruce doesn’t count on McCormack, and this scenario is most likely to happen.
