Rangers reportedly lose the battle for experienced midfielder

According to the Scottish Daily Star, Hearts are very close to signing Norwich City player Steven Naismith. The same source declares Naismith will arrive on a season-long loan.

Some media in the UK previously stated Rangers as his potential destination, but it seems Graeme Murty will have to look elsewhere.

The 32-year-old midfielder has been sidelined by the manager Daniel Farke managing to collect only two appearances in Championship. After a miserable first half of the season, Naismith was determined to leave Carrow Road for more action.

Rangers’ boss Graeme Murty is a big admirer of Scottish international, but Heats officials were quicker with their efforts, and former Rangers player is already on his way to complete medical checks before finalizing the deal.

The former Everton player has plenty of experience and could be very helpful for ‘Jambos’ Premiership playoff battle.

Craig Levein is looking to strengthen his midfield, and he identified Naismith as a perfect signing. Now, the Gers will apparently have to focus on other targets.
