A campaign-ending injury to Luke Ayling has forced Leeds to look into the market for another right-back and cover till the end of the campaign.
The Whites are scouring all over the country for a replacement, and did send a scout to catch the Premier League 2 game between Manchester United under-23’s and their Arsenal counterparts on Monday night.
USA youth international right-back Matthew Olosunde was in action for the Red Devils but couldn’t help prevent his side from getting thrashed 4-nil.
The 19-year-old is highly rated by Manchester boss Jose Mourinho who included him in the first team EPL squad that travelled to play Arsenal and Tottenham last May.
Olosunde stands at an impressive 6ft 1in, and the fact that he started out as a right winger makes him an attacking threat from the flank.
Leeds could do with crosses from that side of the pitch more often, and the agile and athletic American can help provide the services.
Olosunde’s pace and incredible defensive recovery speed will come handy at Elland Road, even though it will be a gamble to throw a teenager still yet to make his first team bow in at the deep end of the Championship.
