Rangers to reportedly eye striking sensation next weekend ahead of £300,000 move

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are keen on a winter swoop for West Brom striker Tyler Roberts, 19, who is currently on loan at English League One side Walsall.

The contract of the teenager at the Premier League club ends in the summer, and the Light Blues are moving to take advantage of the Baggies’ hesitation by getting ready to pay the £300,000 compensation fees signing him will cost.

Roberts has impressed this term, finding the back of the net 5 times in 15 games for Walsall.

The form and huge promises of the Wales youth international have also attracted French giants Marseille, and they, alongside Rangers, are due to run the rule over him again come next weekend against Charlton Athletic.

Rangers are looking to add attacking strength to their ranks this window, and going by his potential, Roberts could be a perfect long-term signing capable of developing into one of the best strikers in the league at Ibrox.

Should he decide to move on in the near future, though, the Welsh could be worth times 10 or even 100 of his current valuation depending on how much he might have grown.
