Reported Rangers January target reveals an official offer is yet to arrive

Rangers have been linked with a couple of players during the ongoing transfer window, but it appears not all are concrete.

The Ibrox club are looking to beat Aberdeen to 2nd place and are recruiting quality players to that effect.

Loan deals for Brighton’s Jamie Murphy and QPR’s Sean Goss have been secured, and it was widely believed and reported a move was on the cards for 21-year-old Hamilton Academical midfielder Greg Docherty.

However, it appears nothing is in pipeline, as the youngster has revealed “it’s all speculations”.

In the words of the Scotland youth international: “There’s been absolutely nothing, it’s all speculation. My friends keep me up to date with the stories but there has been nothing at all so far.

“If they’re talking about it in a positive manner then that’s good, that’s what you want. But there has been nothing from Hamilton and, until that day comes, I’m happy to do my job here.

“My mind is only on our next game which is against Motherwell.”

With the revelation, it remains to be seen if Rangers are indeed interested in Docherty, but he is without a doubt a player capable of improving manager Graeme Murty’s side.

The youngster, who is also said to be attracting Cardiff as per reports, has been in great form this term, scoring 3 goals and assisting 4 others in 21 Premiership games.

Docherty’s creativity and performance have seen him emerge as one of the best youngsters of this campaign following his heroics during last season’s playoff.

He would without a doubt make Rangers better should a move be sealed, but it remains to be seen if one was ever considered by the club.
