Rangers boost as 69-goal striker could be landed on loan this month

According to Sky Sports, uncertainty surrounding the future of Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings at the English Championship club could hand Rangers a huge boost in their pursuit of the 22-year-old.

Forest are willing to let the former Hibernian hitman leave on loan till the end of the campaign if new manager Aitor Karanka can’t find enough room for the out-of-favour player in his plans.

Rangers are keen on having Cummings, and a return to familiar surroundings could be tempting and as well as favourable for the young striker.

The young Hibs legend fired in 69 goals in 150 games for the club, helping them to the Scottish Cup in 2015–16 and promotion to the Premiership at the end of last campaign.

Cummings is well known to Rangers and their fans having watched him score 8 goals against them across 2 seasons.

Alfredo Morelos is in need of quality competition and cover, and a loan deal for the Scotland international looks like the exact type of offer Rangers should be pushing to complete this window.

An opportunity to sign Cummings on a permanent basis at the end of the season could also present itself going forward.
