Mexican team reportedly close to completing a deal for Rangers man

According to the Sky Sports, Cruz Azul will complete the loan deal for Rangers outcast Carlos Pena in the next few days after the president of Mexican club confirmed that the negotiations are in the final stages.

Cruz Azul’ manager Pedro Caixinha, who was at Rangers until last October, would like to reunite with Mexican midfielder.

During Caixinha’ time at Rangers, Pena was a regular first-team member, as he played twelve games, scoring four goals. However, since Graeme Murty has been appointed as new chief, the 27-year-old lost his place in the squad.

Pena had played in Mexican Liga MX for Leon and Chivas Guadalajara before making his move to the ranks of Scottish side.

Pena is described as a versatile midfielder that has a great technique and vision, with good passing ability, but apparently, he was unable to adjust to European football. So, return to the home country is a winning combination for all parties.
