The Scottish Sun exclusively reports that Rangers are very close to securing the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion’ winger Jaime Murphy for an undisclosed fee.
The same paper says that the transfer could be completed within next 24 hours, with Murphy signing a three-year-and-a-half year contract.
The former Motherwell player is on Graeme Murty radar for quite some time after Rangers’ manager identified him as one of the key targets in January transfer window.
The experienced winger spent the last five years in England where he has successfully performed for Sheffield United before moving to Brighton.
Murphy is a pacey player, has a great crossing ability and solid technique. He often uses the spaces behind the opposition defenders. His arrival could bring a width to Rangers’ attack and penetration on the flanks that faltered then in some games this season.
The 28-year-old is expected to complete the medicals soon and officially become a Rangers player.
