Former Sunderland boss Simon Grayson has claimed that Leeds have what it takes to challenge for promotion this season but added that they will need to be successful during this month’s transfer window.
“They’re a few players short of being a team that can [challenge for promotion],” he said Sky Sports Football at 17:15pm on Monday afternoon.
“I think Leeds need two or three more players just to get them up there.”
Leeds fans will certainly be hoping that Thomas Christiansan brings in reinforcements this month to boost their chances of winning promotion.
Leeds started off 2018 with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Nottingham Forest on Monday and Grayson claims that they need to add two or three players to their squad this month to be genuine promotion contenders.
With 20 games remaining this season, the Whites currently occupy 6th position on the Championship standings with 43 points from 26 games.
