Aston Villa boss Bruce makes big admission about Scott Hogan

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has declared that fans will soon be able to see the best out of striker Scott Hogan.

The 25-year-old Hogan who arrived at the Villains from Brentford last summer for £12 million has so far been unable to hit the ground running at Villa Park and has been hampered by injuries.

The former League 2 Player of the year has managed 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring three goals and recording one assist.

He is now fully fit and came on for the final 15 minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sheffield United along with Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Bruce said: “Scott hasn’t been fit. He had an operation four or five weeks ago and unfortunately it set him back a little bit.

“The one thing I’m trying, and it’s difficult at the moment, is I don’t want to put people in who haven’t trained in case they get injured again.

“Scott, it’s his time. Hopefully he can have a run of training week in, week out because he’s been stop-start with injuries.”
