Chelsea reportedly lining up a move for 24-year-old attacker

According to a report published by The Daily Star, Chelsea are lining up a bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, whom they failed to sign during the summer transfer window.

Barkley was on the verge of joining the Blues during the summer transfer window before a deal broke down at the last minute.

Considering that the 24-year olds current deal expires at the end of the season, Everton will need to sell in January or they will risk losing him for free at the end of the season.

Chelsea who are looking to bring in reinforcements in January could however face competition from the likes of Tottenham,Arsenal and West Ham in the race to sign the England international.

Barkley will be looking to play as regularly as possible during the second half of the campaign in order to keep alive his chances of representing England at the 2018 World Cup.
