Manchester United have reportedly named a £5 million asking price for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
Johnstone is currently on loan with Championship club Aston Villa where he has established himself as a first team regular and made 22 appearances this season.
Johnstone who has 18 months remaining on his current contract with United has yet to make a senior appearance for United and as he does not look to be part of the future plans of Jose Mourinho, there is a strong chance that the Red Devils will sell him in January.
Villa, who will no doubt be looking to sign him permanently, could however face competition from the likes of West Ham, West Brom and Crystal Palace.
It remains to be seen if Villa will be willing to fork out the money in January considering that they also do need to comply with financial fair play regulations.
