According to The Scottish Sun, former Aberdeen winger and Rangers summer target Niall McGinn is set to decide on his future before the year runs out.
The 30-year-old is without a club having left South Korean side FC Gwangju after just 5 months. McGinn isn’t short of options, though, with the Dons willing to bring him back to Pittodrie, while Hearts and Hibernian are also keen.
However, none of them are as big as Rangers, and the Scot could find it hard to reject an offer should they reignite interest.
With 62 league goals to his name over the course of 7 seasons in the Premiership, McGinn represents the right quality and experience the Light Blues could do with going forward.
The club are keeping tabs on a couple of targets for the January transfer window, but considering their lack of plenty funds, it won’t be surprising to discover that they are interested in a top free agent.
Rangers have a huge advantage over all other suitors due to their status, and McGinn could prove to be the right catalyst they need to boost the squad in the final third.
