Aston Villa skipper Terry makes a surprising admission

Aston Villa captain John Terry has said that his focus at the moment is on helping his club make a return to the Premier League even if that means having to leave.

Terry joined the Villains during the summer transfer window and a key reason as to why he opted to join the Championship outfit was because he did not want to play against former club Chelsea.

Villa are currently languishing in fifth place on the Championship standings and are in line to challenge for a place in the promotion playoffs.

Terry’s contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season and should the Villains get promoted, it could mean the end of his career.

When asked about this, the former England national team skipped said: “Maybe, maybe, we’ll see. I think first things first I want to get us up, that was my big thing.

“We’re going OK at the minute, obviously a setback at the weekend losing to Derby. But there are so many games and they come thick and fast in the Championship as well.”
