Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has insisted that his team-mate Philippe Coutinho remains focused on Liverpool.
“I always say the same thing,” said Oxlade-Chamerblain. “I try to enjoy the moment, I like to play football and every time I go inside the pitch I try my best so…”
“It’s not fair to ask those kind of questions,” he said. “He gives us his all every game and that’s all we can ask from him. Phil’s a Liverpool player. He’s been the most professional person I’ve seen all season. He’s been top quality from the start and every time he gets on the pitch he does his all. That’s the most important thing right now.”
Coutinho’s future is currently the subject of speculation and he has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona.
The Brazil international was strongly linked with a move to the Spanish giants during the summer transfer window but they had three bids rejected for him.
Ernesto Valverde’s team are reportedly still interested in Coutinho and could attempt to lure him in January.
Coutinho produced a master performance during his club’s 4-0 thrashing of Bournmouth on Sunday and Liverpool fans will not want him to leave as the club looks to have a deep run in the Champions League as well as finish in the top four of the Premier League.
