West Ham boss Moyes explains why he was annoyed with Arnautovic

West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted that he was annoyed with striker Marko Arnautovic after he spurned two good chances during the Hammers 3-0 victory over Stoke City on Saturday.

The Hammers took the lead after Mark Noble converted a spot-kick.

They could have been 3-0 up by the break had Arnautovic not wasted two good chances.  The Austrian first lost out on a one on one with Jack Butland and then sent another over the bar.

The Hammers eventually scored again through Arnautovic and Diafra Sakho. The mean wins that Moyes side have taken their unbeaten run to three games and they now move out of the relegation zone.

“The result went our way and it was important win. We’re gaining momentum and at times we showed that,” Moyes told Match of the Day afterwards.

“We had to deal with a lot of stuff but we missed good chances. I was annoyed with Marko at half time as he had the chance to get two. He’s doing really well and I said to him at half time he would score.

“Clean sheets are one of the things you want to do. Don’t shout about it too much as we’re going to need a few more.”
