Tottenham boss Pochettino reportedly wants his side to focus on signing this player

According to reports, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has informed the club’s hierarchy that they should focus on sealing a deal to sign Ross Barkley from Everton during the January transfer window.

Barkley has not yet featured for Everton this season due to injury and he has already made up his mind that he wishes to leave the club.

He was on the verge of joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window but a potential deal fell through at the last minute.

As his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, Everton will have no choice but to sell in January and they may do so for a fee of £20 million. Barkley is a talented player and there is no doubt that he would be a good signing for Spurs.

He is also likely to be available for a cut-price fee and this could be appealing to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who is known for being one of the toughest negotiators in World football.
