This Sunday, December 17, 2017 (4:00 PM Pacific) Santa Fe will play Millonarios at the Estadio El Campin for the second leg of the 2017 Liga Aguila II final between Santa Fe and Millonarios. Millos secured a slim 1-0 advantage in the first leg at El Campin but it should be a very hard-fought and exciting match in this decisive second leg.

Santa Fe conceded just its 13th goal of the Liga Aguila season in the first leg of this matchup. The lone goal of that first leg was a header off a free kick by Millonarios’ defender Matias De los Santos. It was a surprising goal to concede for Santa Fe as Los Cardenales are usually very good on set-pieces and corners with players like William Tesillo and Hector Urrego. The centre-back pairing of Tesillo and Urrego has been very solid in the playoffs and should be a force in this game. Santa Fe will need to rely on its defense and set-piece work in this game with the attack of Wilson Morelo, John Pajoy and Anderson Plata struggling recently.

Los Leones will have the complete home support at El Campin in this match as the Millos’ faithful are not allowed to enter the stadium and this should be a huge plus. Santa Fe has a very talented squad that can shutdown Millonarios in this game but the problem will be finding a way to score.

Millonarios do clearly have the more balanced team as was shown in the first leg of this matchup. Los Embajadores picked up a 1-0 lead in the first leg of this matchup in front of the home support but will now need to play in front of the Santa Fe support. The Uruguayan players on Miguel Angel Russo’s team shined in the first leg as Matias De los Santos scored the winning goal of the game and goalkeeper Nicolas Vikonis made some spectacular saves to get a clean sheet. Millonarios do arguably have the better offense with players like Ayron Del Valle, David Silva, Duvier Riascos and Harold Mosquera. Del Valle is clearly the main component of the offense as he can change the course of a game on his own.

David Silva is one of the more underrated players on the team as he is very beneficial to the offense with his distribution and linkup play from the attacking midfield slot. It will be tough for Los Embajadores to keep this slim lead in front of Los Cardenales’ fans and there will surely be more goals in this decisive second leg.
