David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers, managers of West Ham and Celtic respectively, are both keen on signing Reading centre-back Liam Moore when the transfer window reopens next month.
The 24-year-old, who is also able to play at right-back, has been a key player for the Royals since arriving from Leicester City in the summer of 2016.
Moore, a former England youth international, helped guide Jaap Stam’s men to the Championship playoffs last term, and has been solid rock at the back as usual this term – even weighing in 3 goals and an assist at the other end.
Only Stoke City have conceded more than West Ham’s 32 goals in the Premier League, and Moyes is hoping to get things right at the back by adding a quality stopper.
Celtic are looking for defensive backups having failed to recruit a defender during the summer transfer, and Moore is amongst the top targets for next month.
Despite having 3 and half years to go on his new deal, Reading could be forced to sell if their man is eager to return to the Premier League and if the price is right.
The Hoops on the other hand could lure him with the availability of European football at Parkhead, but both suitors will have to play their cards right to have a chance next month.
