Liverpool attacker reveals he taking inspiration from Roberto Firmino

Liverpool youngster Dominic Solanke has revealed that he is studying team-mate Roberto Firmino as he looks to break into the Reds first team on a regular basis.

It appears that manager Jurgen Klopp has a lot of faith in Solanke’s ability as he played him in Liverpool’s last two matches which were the frustrating 1-1 draw to Everton, where he started, as well as the 0-0 draw against West Brom, the match in which he thought that he had scored the winner – only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Solanke has now revealed that he is learning a lot from Firmino as he looks to make a name for himself and said: “In the games it’s good to speak. He’ll tell me, like he did when we played at Stoke – he always gave me little movements and stuff that I needed to do to help us both.

“I think it’s really important to watch the forwards in your team, especially because he’s been here for a while now so he knows how the team play. It’s good to watch him and see what he does for the team, how he helps the team, and when I’m in that position try to fit in and follow what he does.

“He’s very technical. He’s got a lot of technique and his movement’s good, his finishing is good. He’s always there to poach, really.”
