Crooks slams Tottenham boss Pochettino’s attitude

Football pundit Garth Crooks has slammed Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino for giving up on the Premier League title race this season even though the North London side realistically cannot catch up to leaders Manchester City.

Pochettino, whose side narrowly missed out on Premier League success during the past two consecutive seasons, admitted that they will not be able to win the League this season after his side drew 1-1 against West Brom last month.

Spurs ended a run of poor form this weekend by recording a 5-1 win against Stoke City in the Premier League and after the game, Crooks blasted Pochettino for his attitude.

“I have made my feelings known about Stoke City’s performance and their manager very clear. However Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino also needs to take note,” former Spurs player Crooks said on the BBC Sport website.

“Arsene Wenger took a swipe at Pochettino recently claiming the Tottenham manager may have given up on the Premier League title but the Arsenal manager had not.

“Such statements by the Spurs boss are dangerous. If you are not chasing the Premier League title, then what exactly are you chasing and what are you telling your players before matches?”
