Stoke City defender Kevin Wimmer has delivered a message to Tottenham fans.
Wimmer played the full 90 minutes for the Potters as they fell to a 5-1 thrashing against Spurs on Saturday.
Wimmer said on Twitter: “Not the result we wanted, have to keep working hard!! Thank u for the nice reception today, was a great feeling seeing everyone again. All the best for the rest of the season @spursofficial& see u soon!!”
After struggling to earn regular game time during his time with Spurs, Wimmer joined Stoke during the summer transfer window for a fee believed to be in the region of £18 million.
Tottenham returned to form and convincingly won the game through an own goal from Ryan Shawcross, a goal from Heung Min-Son, a brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Christian Eriksen.
The loss for Stoke means that they are very much in the relegation battle this season. It meanwhile provides a boost for Spurs who will be aiming to clinch a top four finish this season.
