Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has jokingly claimed that it was he who ruined West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Scotland played against England in June and Griffiths netted two free-kicks during the game to put his country on the verge of recording a memorable win against the Three Lions.
The match would have no doubt caused nightmares for Hart, who has recently been demoted as first choice keeper for West Ham in favour of Adrian.
Scotland may not have managed to claim victory but Griffiths however was rewarded as he was handed the Sunday Mail’s Inspirational Performance Award of the year for his display.
When asked if he is on Hart’s Christmas card list, Griffith’s replied saying: “I’ve ruined him!”
“It was heartbreaking to watch those highlights. If only Stuarty (Armstrong) had kicked the ball left instead of right then we would be at the World Cup!”
