Former West Ham striker Carlton Cole has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast that he does not believe that the Hammers will be relegated this season.
“I don’t think so,” the former Hammers striker said, when asked if he believed West Ham would go down this season.
“We just need to get some momentum going. There’s definitely a hard period coming up, let’s just see the character of the team. The teams I’ve been in have had to dig in to get results.”
The East London club have been poor so far throughout this season and are currently sitting in 19th position on the League standings.
Since taking over from the sacked Slaven Bilic, David Moyes has yet to win form the four games that he has been in charge and faces two difficult upcoming fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal which could extend the clubs winless run.
The Hammers did however play with courage last weekend as they only narrowly lost 2 -1 to runaway League leaders Manchester City and they should aim to build upon this performance.
