According to reports, Bolton Wanderers are confident that they can keep hold of Sunderland target Gary Madine during the January transfer window.
The Black Cats will look to make reinforcements to their side as they try to avoid relegation and as they could face the risk of Lewis Grabban to parent club Bournemouth, bringing in a proven striker could be a priority.
Recent reports have suggested that Madine is one of the players who Black Cats manager Chris Coleman could target in January. He is currently the top scorer for Bolton and has managed to score six goals.
Madine has become the second Whites player to be linked with a move away from the club this week after Josh Vela has also been linked with moves to Leeds United, Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County.
Wanderers are confident of keeping hold off Madine and doubt has been cast over whether Sunderland have the spending power to make a transfer happen.
