Sunderland plotting a swoop for Bolton Wanderers star

Stadium of Light

According to reports, Sunderland are eyeing a swoop for Bolton Wanderers striker Gary Madine.

The 27 year old has so far scored six goals in 21 appearances this term  including once during the 3 -3 draw at the Stadium of Light which was Simon Grayson’s last game in charge of the Black Cats.

Sunderland will be severely limited by what they can do financially during the January transfer window and manager Chris Coleman will know that he will need to wisely bring in new additions to the struggling club if he wants to boost their chances of avoiding relegation.

The strike department is one area which Coleman will look to strengthen especially if Bournemouth end up deciding to recall Lewis Grabban.

The Liverpool duo Danny Ward and Ben Woodburn, who featured under Coleman while he was manager of the Wales national team, are other players that Sunderland could be set to recruit on loan in January.
