Former West Ham favourite Jimmy Walker believes that Adrian should remain in goal for the Hammers following the Spaniard’s impressive performance against Premier League leaders Manchester City during the weekend.
Adrian has served as backup to Joe Hart this season. He was however handed a start during the Hammers game against the Citizens during the week as Hart was not eligible to play in the game as he is on loan from Pep Guardiola’s team.
Adrian made some fine saves and in particular denied Leroy Sane. Since arriving at the Hammers, Hart has failed to impress and Walker believes that manager David Moyes should stick with Adrian.
“Great effort from the Hammers (against Man City),” Walker said on Twitter. “Those levels shud be reached as a prerequisite every game though! Adrian was outstanding.
“Can’t disagree with that (Adrian needs to keep his place)… deserves a run after that! Joes (Hart) not been great either.
