West Ham risk becoming relegated having found themselves 19th on the Premier League log after 15 games.
New manager David Moyes has been tasked with keeping the Hammers up following another poor start to a campaign under Slaven Bilic, but going by the Scot’s most recent jobs, leading them to safety could prove herculean.
West Ham have enough talents within their ranks to actually challenge for a top 6 finish, and many have suggested English striker Andy Carroll remains the club’s best shot at escaping the drop.
The 28-year-old has managed to stay fit thus far, but a lack of goals and assists have kept in and out of the starting XI.
Carroll has played 8 games thus far, starting Moyes’ first 2 games in charge but sitting out of the other 2.
The Scot’s initial decision to play the Englishman was as a result of him trying to please the fans and club, but Carroll is clearly not in great shape at the moment, and he can’t save West Ham from going down.
His drought proves it.
The club rather need summer arrival Javier Hernandez in shape and full fitness if they are to turn their fortunes around.
The Mexican is the side’s highest goalscorer in the league with 4 goals, and he must be key to Moyes’ plan going forward if the Hammers are to remain up.
