Leicester City boss Claude Puel has said that Jamie Vardy and Tottenham’s Harry Kane could form a formidable forward lineup for the England national team.
Kane has been the first choice forward for the Three Lions during the recent past and this is understandable seeing that he has scored more goals during the past two seasons.
Vardy has been mostly used off the bench and more often out wide rather than down in the middle.
With the World Cup coming up next summer, Southgate will be looking at different combinations that he can use in order to land England a first major trophy since they won the 1966 World Cup. Puel believes that Vardy and Kane could do well together.
He said: “I think it would be a good opportunity perhaps if they could play together because it would be a good balance between Jamie and Harry.
“Harry can play a little further back because he likes to play and participate with his team-mates and Jamie likes to take space and play behind the defenders. I t is a good balance between them both.”
